The Devialet Classic Phantom Wireless Speaker is a compact powerhouse delivering 2000 Watts of distortion-free sound. With innovative features and versatile connectivity options, this high-end speaker promises an immersive audio experience.
I got the Devialet Classic Phantom Wireless Speaker on a friend’s recommendation, hoping for an awesome audio upgrade at home.
While it does deliver amazing sound, my journey with it has been a mix of great tunes and annoying technical issues.

Here’s my experience using this portable wireless speaker:
Excellent Sound Quality
The good stuff first – as a Bluetooth speaker, the Devialet is fantastic! The sound quality is top-notch, making it perfect for enjoying music or movies. Setting it up was easy, and connecting with my phone and laptop was a breeze.
Connectivity Issues
But here’s where it gets tricky. When I tried using it with my small screening room setup, things went south. The speakers kept connecting and disconnecting randomly, causing disruptions in the audio. Using the optical input was a headache, and it turned a simple setup into a frustrating experience.
Lack of App Features
The Devialet app, which you need to control things, isn’t great. It’s not easy to use, and the volume controls acted up a few times. The speakers even rebooted on me, stopping the music abruptly. And the overall design didn’t impress me – it lacked the cool look I expected from a fancy product.
Despite my love for the sound, I worry about the app. It’s been good so far, but I fear a future update might mess things up. This uncertainty makes me wonder if my investment will last. AirPlay, another feature they boast about, was a letdown, and the basic app lacked important features like restarting the speaker.
Easy Setup
On the bright side, physically setting up the Devialet was cool. Using the ‘Spark’ app on my iPhone made the speakers come to life with breathing sounds and moving ‘ears.’ But as fun as that was, it couldn’t make up for the app and connection problems.
Overall Experience
The Devialet Classic Phantom Wireless Speaker has ups and downs.
It can give you amazing sound, but it comes with technical bumps and app worries. If you’re okay using it just as a Bluetooth speaker and can overlook its design and app issues, it might work for you.
But if you want a hassle-free audio solution, you might want to check out other high-end speakers.
